Hundreds of readers voted on the eSchool News website
in March for what they considered to be the best training solutions
in each of nine categories.
Below are the results for the Demonstration and Monitoring software
category published in the June 2001 issue of the magazine.
E-School news magazine concluded "For demonstration and
Computer-lab instructional software - programs that allow an instructor
to show his or her computer screen to the rest of the class, take
control of a trainee's computer, and so on - our readers' top pick
was NetSupport School Pro. One reader described School Pro as a "fantastic
software teaching tool. Provides more options and better flexibility
than any other tools that I have ever seen or used." another said
it gives the "best bang for the buck."
Many readers noted that Apple's Network Assistant network management
software does essentially the same thing in a Macintosh environment.
In fact, one reader wrote, "For a Mac environment, there is nothing
better."
In addition to the solutions listed above, others getting votes included
Symantec's PC Anywhere and Novell's ZENworks.
